Police will act professionally and firmly – DCOP Gyenning

The police will act professionally and firmly to deal with lawlessness, to protect the integrity of the on-going biometric voters’ registration.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Augustine Gyenning, Ashanti Regional Police Commander gave the assurance when he met journalists in Kumasi on Thursday.

The Regional Police Commander appealed to the media, particularly radio stations, to exercise good judgment in the discharge of their duties, “to avoid inflaming political tension and emotions.”

He asked journalists to be accurate and objective in their reports as the country prepared towards Election 2012.

DCOP Gyenning appealed to the public to volunteer information to the police to help arrest miscreants disturbing the peace of the people.**
