Police warn against oil fraudsters

The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. James Kofi Abraham, on Thursday cautioned the public to be wary of unscrupulous individuals acting as agents for the oil companies to secure jobs for them.

He said the Command had arrested Isaac Newton for distributing leaflets to some people in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis promising jobs with oil companies.

Mr Abraham said there are some unscrupulous people in the metropolis who wanted to use the discovery of oil in the country to defraud people. The Western Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, has said the Command had intensified mobile patrols in the region to clamp down on criminal activities during the Christmas.
