Police Service is most corrupt institution – Survey

The latest Afrobarometer survey indicates that more than 5 in every 10 people say their governments are doing a poor job in fighting corruption.

The survey that covered 34 countries, including Ghana also noted that police attract the highest ratings of corruption with 43% saying that “most” or “all” of them are involved in corruption.

One in three, report paying a bribe, at least once in the past year, either to obtain a service or avoid a problem.

The full report is being released in Senegal. The Afrobarometer surveys are conducted in more than a dozen African countries and are repeated on a regular cycle.

Trends in public attitudes are tracked over time. Results are shared with decision makers, policy advocates, civic educators, journalists, researchers, donors and investors, as well as average Africans who wish to become more informed and active citizens. Click Below for the full report
