Police service inaugurates election security task force in Tarkwa.

The Tarkwa Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service, Assistance Commissioner of Police (ACP) Paul Ayitey, on Tuesday inaugurated an election security task force to ensure security in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality for the December 7, elections.

The task force is made up of senior members of the Ghana Police service, Prisons service, Fire Service, Immigration, Bureau of National Investigations, Information Service department, National Disaster Management Organization, the Electoral Commission, National Commission for Civic Education among others.

Members of the task force have been grouped into committees to enable them to develop strategic ideas to assist the Police service in achieving its peaceful election mandate.

The Tarkwa District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Ernest Kuukure Maayeb, in a brief statement, urged the members to bring their expertise to bear to ensure a peaceful election.

Mr. Maayeb called on the public to abide by the rules and regulations governing the election process.
