Police Service deploys Special Forces ahead of SC verdict

The Ghana Police Service has deployed 455 Police officers drawn from its special unit to man flash point areas across the entire country ahead of Thursday’s pronouncement of the election petition verdict.

Director General of Operations of the Police Service, COP John Kudalor in an interview with XYZ News said the formation of the special unit is to serve as a precautionary measure ahead of the Supreme Court (SC) verdict.

He added that the special unit was carved out of four arms of the police service, including Alpha, Bravo, Challe and Delta.

COP John Kudalor added that the Police Force will be headed by a nine-member Police commandant to assist operations of the regional police units at the hotspots.

“The deployment starts from today, they will start policing immediately they get to their regions,” COP John Kudalor said.

“The flashpoints are very dynamic so we send them there now before the verdict is given we organize some other people to other areas”.
