Police searching for man who bound sister to a tree

Suhum (E/R), March 18, GNA – The Suhum Police have mounted an intensive search for Frank Kwaku, a 23-year-old apprentice mechanic, who tied his younger sister around a tree and left to work for allegedly indulging in immoral activity.

Police Superintendent Stephen Amoako, Suhum District Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency that the girl, a pupil of Suhum New Town Presbyterian School, lived with her grandmother and the suspect in the same house at Ali, a suburb of Suhum.

He said the girl reportedly never slept in the house and the brother warned her on several occasions to put an end to that behaviour without success.

Mr Amoako said on February 18, the girl slept in town and returned to the house the next morning.

This infuriated the suspect so he bound the girl around a tree and left to work. Mr Amoako said the girl’s cry attracted the attention of a passer-by who raised an alarm. He said one Samuel Mensah, responded to the shouts of the passer-by, untied the girl and sent her to the hospital where she was treated and discharged.
