Police search for man who absconds with money, insurance documents

Mankessim (C/R), Feb. 6, GNA – The Police at Mankessim in the Central Region have mounted a search for Buckman Kojo Amissah, who is alleged to have absconded with an unspecified amount of money and some insurance documents.

A police source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Mankessim that Amissah, an employee of the Mankessim based Vincent B.A. Consultancy a private company and agent of the Quality Insurance Company was sent with the money and documents on January 10 this year to the Head Office of the insurance company in Accra to renew the documents, but failed to return.

The source appealed to the public to help locate the whereabouts of Amissah.

When the GNA visited the offices of the company at Mankessim Mr Vincent Biney-Amissah, General Manager confirmed the story and said he was particularly worried about the documents, which belonged mainly to vehicle owners who had submitted their insurance certificates for renewal.

Mr Biney-Amissah, who is also Assembly member for Ahenbronmu-Anaafo in Mankessim some of the drivers could not work for fear of being arrested for using their vehicles without valid documents.
