Police officers, GWCL workers named in $80,000 theft

Workers of the Ghana water company Limited and some Police personnel have been implicated in the disappearance of over $80,000 belonging to a sachet water producer in Accra.

The officials of the water company and police service reportedly went to the house of the water sachet manufacturer a few days ago to disconnect an illegal pipe connection at the premises.

The money is alleged to have been found missing after the team had ransacked the rooms in the house.

Owner of the company who gave his name as Donkor told Starr News he is not involved in any illegal connection of water.

“When they came, they took over the house and went to the rooms and ransacked everywhere. My boys found out their monies were missing. I also went to the rooms where I had kept a huge amount of Money. About $80,000 dollars was gone and I had Cedis there too. Fortunately, while entering the room, a camera captured them,” he narrated.

But the leader of the team that went on the operation has vehemently denied the allegations. Joseph Migal told Starr News the claim by the manufacturer is laughable.
