A Police officer with the Visibility Department of the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command and two other individuals have been remanded in police custody for illegal possession of cocaine.
Lance Corporal Gibson Kabbal, Kofi Minta alias Nana Adu Kofi, 29, and Aziz Suleman, 35, appeared before a Sunyani Magistrate Court on Friday and are to reappear on the 17th of July, 2015.
Deputy Regional Commander of the Brong Ahafo Police Command, ACP Opoku Adusei Sarpong told Atinkaonline that, his outfit arrested Nana Adu upon a tip-off, adding that the suspect was in possession of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine when he was arrested.
Upon further interrogation, Nana Adu led the Police Officers to the indicted Lance Corporal Kabbal and the other suspect at their hideout in one of the Zongo communities in Sunyani.
According to police investigation, Lance Corporal Kabbal leaks information to narcotic peddlers in the region in order to evade police swoop.
ACP Adusei Poku confirmed that the substance had been sent to the laboratory for tests and stated that, his officers found 35 slaps of cocaine at the suspects’ hideout in Sunyani.
