Accra, May 13, GNA- Personnel of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the Police Service, on Friday night picked the corpse of an unidentified lunatic lying at the Rawlings Park, drawing a curious crowd to the scene.
The slim, dark and tall man in tattered clothes was carried away around 1800 hours in the bustling Accra business district. A trader, who pleaded anonymity, told the Ghana News Agency that although she was happy the corpse had been taken away, what she expect the city authorities to do, is to seek medical assistance about the cause of the death and fumigate the area where he died to avoid the outbreak of epidemic.
” Lunatics and destitutes must be taken off the streets and the commercial nerve centres of the country, she suggested,” adding, ” but how soon will this materialise?” 13 May 05
