Police intensifies road safety campaign

Goaso (B/A) Oct. 25, GNA – The police at Goaso in Asunafo North district in Brong Ahafo have intensified a campaign to educate drivers, pedestrians and other road users on the need for them to be extra cautious to avoid accidents.

As apart of the campaign, series of public fora, workshops and seminars have been held to update the knowledge of drivers in both public and private institutions on road safety regulations. Chief Superintendent of Police Kofi Asare, in-charge of Goaso Division, reminded drivers of the bad nature of roads, especially in the forest and cocoa growing areas.

He said the conditions of these roads had become worse and more dangerous during the rainy season and asked drivers users to exercise the greatest care on the road.

Chief Superintendent Asare stressed that the least mistake by a driver could claim many lives, whilst a mistake by a doctor claimed only one life. He advised the drivers to ensure the regular maintenance of their vehicles.
