Police identified eight accident prone areas on Winneba/Accra road

Kasoa (C/R), Nov. 30, GNA – The Kasoa police have identified eight accidents prone area between Winneba Junction and Weija barrier and have appealed to drivers to be cautious especially during the Christmas festivities.

The areas are Adawukwa Bridge area towards Winneba, Budu Atta, Potin, Okyereko, Gomoa Mpota area, Akoto Junction and Awutu Bereku. The rest are Big Apple or Tripple “X” area, Gomoa Buduburam area, C.P area and Kasoa Traffic Light Area.

The Kasoa District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jordan Quaye made this known in statement he issued at Kasoaa. The statement said Between January and October, 287 accidents involving 357 vehicles happened in these areas.

Fourteen people were killed and 162 injured in the accidents with 80 of them serious.

The statement said these areas are undulating, some are slippery, heavily populated with dangerous crossing of pedestrians.
