Police Hospital to embark on mass burial

The management of the Police Hospital in Accra has announced plans to embark on a mass burial exercise to decongest the hospital morgue.

A statement issued and signed by DCOP Dr Samuel Amo-Mensah, Medical Director of the hospital on Monday July 18, said: “As part of routine measures to decongest the Police Hospital’s morgue, the Police Hospital administration is putting up preparations to embark on mass burial for about 200 unknown and unclaimed bodies.”

It added: “The General Public is hereby being informed to contact the Pathology Department of the Police Hospital for identification of persons who might have not been seen for some time now as part of the search to avert being added to those earmarked for mass burial after 21 days of this announcement.”
