Three suspected armed robbers have been shot and killed by police in Tema following a reported gun battle during a foiled warehouse break-in.
According to an official statement, officers from the Tema Regional Police Command responded swiftly to a distress call on Sunday, July 21, 2025. The report indicated that a group of about ten armed individuals had broken into a warehouse located in the Tema Industrial Area.
Upon arrival, the police encountered the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the confrontation, three of the alleged robbers sustained gunshot wounds and were later confirmed dead.
The remaining suspects, some of whom are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene.
The police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang, while investigations into the attempted robbery continue.
Exhibits recovered from them include a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a double-barreled locally manufactured pistol with two rounds of ammunition, and 1 live BB ammunition.
The bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation, and autopsy.
