Police grab Security Men over stolen explosives

Goaso (B/A) May 20 GNA – The Mim Police on Monday arrested and detained three Security Men of the Mota Compenhia, a Portuguese construction firm working on the 56-kilometre Noborkaw-Bediako-Gambia asphalt road for allegedly stealing explosives valued at 23 million cedis from the company’s quarry at Mim.

The suspects, Kwadwo Forjour, Kwadwo Gyamfi and Ernest Kyei are helping the Police in their investigations. The Asunafo District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr G. Baffour Gyare, said the explosives included 12,250 metres of detonating cord and 1.2 units of electric detonators.

ASP Agyare appealed to the public to assist the Police to retrieve the stolen explosives, which he said, pose a threat to public security.
