Police gives owners of 33 vehicles still at Kasoa 14 days to clear them

Winneba (C/R), April 7, GNA – The Kasoa District Headquarters has asked owners of 33 vehicles still at their outfit at Kasoa and Awutu Beraku another two weeks to clear them or have them auctioned. The District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jordan Quaye gave the warning in a press statement issued in Winneba on Tuesday. DSP Quaye said the vehicles were among a total of 100 others that had been involved in accidents, but their owners have left them at the police station at Kasoa and Awutu Beraku for the past three years. According to the Police Commander following the announcement that owners had been given up to the end of March 2009 to take their vehicles away, 70 of them have cleared.

He said the registration numbers of the vehicles would be published in the newspapers after which the police would seek a court order to auction them to ease congestion at the stations. 7 April 09
