Police express satisfaction with Committee’s Report

Accra, Dec. 8, GNA 96 The Police on Friday said it had accepted in good faith the Report of the Five-Member Committee on the shooting incidents in Dansoman and Kotobabi in Accra.

The Acting Director of Public Affairs, DSP Kwesi Ofori in a statement he signed said the Police Administration had taken note of all the shortcomings in their operations as pointed out by the Committee. It said the Police would take the necessary steps to remedy the situation to forestall the recurrence of such incidents in the future. The Police Administration expressed its profound gratitude to the general public, especially the families of the victims of the Dansoman and Kotobabi shooting incidents for their patience and co-operation during the period of investigation into the tragedies. The statement expressed gratitude to the Committee under the Chairmanship of Mr Justice J.C. Amonoo-Money, a Retired Appeal Court Judge, for the great work done.

It gave the assurance that the unfortunate incident would not dampen the morale of its personnel in the discharge of their mandatory functions as law enforcement agents.

“Instead they would rather be gingered and guided to perform their duties more professionally,” it statement said and expressed sympathies to the bereaved families.
