Police deny newspaper story

Accra, Dec. 3, GNA – The Police Administration on Friday described as totally false, a story in an Accra-based newspaper, captioned: “NDC wins 73 per cent of security votes”.

A statement issued by the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Police Service, said the security services were yet to vote in a special voting exercise on Saturday December 4.

“The security services together with other election officials will all cast their votes on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at designated polling stations,” the statement said.

The Police asked the media to exercise extreme circumspection when publishing stories that have the propensity to cause disorder to affect the success of Election 2004.
