Police constable granted bail for defilement

Techiman (B/A) April 9, GNA- The Techiman circuit court presided over by Mr. Justice Erasmus Gyinae, has granted Police Constable Kofi Nsiah, 50 million cedis bail with one surety for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl.

He is to re-appear on April 14.

Constable Nsiah who first appeared before the court on April 2, and was remanded in prison custody pleaded not guilty to defiling the girl who is a student of Techiman Takofiano Seventh Day Adventist Junior Secondary School (JSS).

The case of defilement was reported to the police at Techiman on January 24, this year, but Constable Nsiah absconded. He was apprehended on March 31, this year, after a warrant issued by the Tuobodom Magistrate’s Court was served on him and the case transferred to Techiman Circuit Court.
