Police Commander lauds district for maintaining peace

The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Alex Felix Quianoo has appreciated the level of peace among mining folks in the Prestea Huni Valley District.

He mentioned that it was only through such peaceful coexistence that the Region and the country could advance in development.

DCOP Quainoo was speaking during a working visit to the area. “I am glad as to the level of peace and order in the district despite it been a mining community,” he emphasised.

He, however, expressed his worry about the gradual destruction and pollution of land and water with the entire natural environment by illegal miners.

He, therefore, advised small scale miners to unite and jointly educate themselves to avoid such destruction.
