Nyinahin (Ash), Dec. 22, GNA – Superintendent Samuel Aloredey, Atwima-Mponua District Police Commander, on Monday assured the public that it would tighten security in the area during the runoff of the presidential election runoff. He said: “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that all trouble spots in the Atwima-Mponua Constituency were well catered for in the runoff to ensure incident free elections”.
Supt. Aloredey was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Nyinahin in Ashanti on measures being put in place by his outfit to enhance a peaceful presidential election runoff on December 28. The District Police Commander cited Afepaye, Donkoto, Kyekyewere, Adupri, Nagoli, Abofrem and Achiase as areas where security personnel would step up patrols to check vandalism and malpractices. Supt. Aloredey called on residents in the constituency, who had been threatened by their landlords with ejection due to their political affiliations, to lodge complaint with the police for prompt action to be taken.
He cautioned security personnel, who would be posted to the various polling stations in the constituency to remain neutral and abide by the code of ethics of the profession for successful polls.
