Police Buffalo Unit arrests restaurant thieves

Tema, Oct 09, GNA –The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ has remanded three men who broke into a restaurant at Community 16, Lashibi, and stole a gas cooker and a cylinder valued at 3.8 million cedis.

Daniel Tetteh, a fisherman, and Daniel Lartey, an auto electrician, pleaded guilty while Ben Jamin Bortey, unemployed, pleaded not guilty. Police Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah told the court that on October 1 a restaurant operator came to work in the morning and found that his shop had been broken into and the items stolen.

On October 4 a police patrol team intercepted a taxicab at Community 16 and when the boot was opened the items were found in it. The prosecution said when the passengers of the taxi were interrogated, they admitted stealing the items from a restaurant, and took police to the restaurant. 09 Oct 04
