Police begin investigations into Corporal’s death

The Ashanti regional police command has commenced investigations into the suspected suicide of 33-year old Corporal Ebenezer Kofi Otchere.

The deceased is alleged to have shot himself on the neck after receiving a phone call at his residence in Kumasi, Wednesday morning.

Confirming the incident to the media, regional police public relations officer, ASP Juliana Obeng said the police have contacted the family of the late police officer to inform them about the unfortunate incident.

She noted that the regional crime scene team has visited the crime scene to commence investigations into the case.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy. Until his untimely death, Corporal Ebenezer Otchere was with the Ashanti Regional Police SWAT unit.
