Police beefs up security at Teshie after clashes

Police have beefed up security in Teshie, a suburb of Accra, following some disturbances there.

One person reportedly had his throat slashed when supporters of a rival faction attacked mourners digging the grave of a Kingmaker.

They were protesting a decision for Nii Oshinpang to be buried at the Royal mausoleum.

DSP Freeman Tetteh said the police will deal with people who foment trouble during the funeral.

“We are firmly on the ground, security is very tight and there are patrols in the center of Teshie and we are monitoring the situation.”
