Police avert violence at Manso Amenfi

Sekondi, Dec. 9, GNA – A timely intervention by police at Manso Amenfi prevented a clash between the youth of the town and the constituency chairman of the New Patriotic party (NPP), Mr. Kwame Armah. He fired a warning shot to disperse the youth who were moving to attack him in his house.

Police Chief Superintendent Francis Doku told journalists that the youth were angered because after ballot papers had been counted, Mr Armah brought two ballot boxes to the collation centre and claimed they were left at a polling station.

Party agents took a decision not allow ballot papers from the two boxes to be counted. The them youth moved from the collation centre towards Mr Armah’s house and he fired warning shots. Mr Doku police personnel prevented the youth from attacking Mr Doku and in the process six of them got injured. Six of them got injured.
