Police asked to be committed to Election 2012

Mr. John Kudalor, Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, has called on the police to be committed to the December Election to receive praise from both the victor and the vanquished.

He said such recognition could only be achieved if the police remained neutral, diligent, disciplined and fearless.

Mr. Kudalor was addressing 200 recruits, who passed out at the Police Training School in Ho on Wednesday.

He said Ghana Police Service had a credible international recognition that must be sustained, especially by exuding professionalism during elections.

“Fellow officers, recruits on parade, the Ghana Police Service has gained international commendation in peace keeping duties as well as training of policemen of some sister African countries.

“On the local scene, we have managed to reduce crime across the entire nation. However, as to whether we could sustain this credible achievement would be determined after this year’s elections.

Mr. Kudalor assured Ghanaians that the police would ensure free, fair and peaceful elections and asked the people to exercise their civic right.

Dubic Razak, 27, from Tumu, emerged the overall performing recruit and was decorated with the Baton of Honour.

Mr. Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister and Mr. Henry Ametefe, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, were present at the ceremony.**
