Police arrests wee peddlers

MADINA, (GAR) June 12, GNA – The Police from the Accra North-East Police Divisional Headquarters in Madina had placed in police custody, six suspected wee peddlers. The wee peddlers were arrested during a dawn swoop last Friday behind the Madina Market Complex. The police seized three polythene bags containing dry leaves suspected to be Indian help.

When GNA contacted, the Madina District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako, he confirmed the story and added that the suspects would be put before the Madina Magistrate Court Grade One for prosecution. Commander Antwi-Boasiako also warned those smoking wee within the Madina market to stop the practice or face severe consequences.

He added that the police have embarked on an unrelenting war against drug peddlers in Madina and its environs. The Accra North-East Divisional Headquarters supervises Kwabenya, Ay-Mensah, Adenta and Madina.
