Police arrests fake military personnel

The Suame Divisional Police in Kumasi has arrested a middle-aged man for posing as military personnel.

The suspect, whose name was only given as Highlander, was apprehended when he appeared at the Suame sub-metro polling station, one of the venues for the National Democratic Congress presidential and parliamentary elections, fully dressed in military uniform.

“The suspect was arrested after he failed to prove his identity as a genuine military personnel”, a source at the Suame Police Station, confirmed to the Ghana News Agency.

The Suame Constituency, one of the flashpoints in the elections, saw heavy police presence to maintain law and order.
