Police arrest two for stealing motorcycle, phones in Edo

Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects for the alleged robbery of a motorcycle and phones in the State.

The spokesperson of the Command, Moses Yamu, disclosed in a statement in Benin City on Saturday, that the names of the suspects were Binigolo Ebimene, 25, and Mathew Denwei, 27.

Yamu said the suspects robbed their victims at Malim camp Gbelebu community in Ovia South-West local government area

He said the suspects were arrested following a distress call by the victims.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been terrorizing farmers and commuters in the locality.

He added that the suspects were arrested with a locally fabricated pistol and two headlamps,, as well as the motorcycle was allegedly stolen from a victim.

He said the suspects who confessed to the crime would be charged in court after investigation.

The image maker, however, said the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command, Monday Agbonika, read a riot act to all miscreants in the state that there is no hiding place for them, noting that they either repent, relocate from the state or face the consequences.

He, however, urged the people of the state to shun crime and report suspicious persons, movements, or objects to the Police.
