Police arrest Prof Kumado’s visitor

Accra, Dec. 11, GNA -A man, who successfully broke into the residence of Professor Kofi Kumado at Little Legon and was relaxing in the sitting room, is in the grips of the Legon Police.

District Commander of Legon Police Station, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Michael Tecku told the GNA that a Security Guard of the University of Ghana in charge of Little Legon saw Francis Odonkor who hails from Odumase-Krobo, relaxing in the sitting room and raised the alarm.

He said Odonkor took to his heels but with the assistance of some students he was apprehended and taken to the Police station. DSP Tecku said Odonkor would be arraigned after Police investigations.

In another development a 26-year old worker of the University, Awanda Ati suspected to be selling Indian hemp to the University community has also been arrested.

The University Security arrested Ati at the Bush Canteen with 103 wrappers of leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and an amount of 185,000 cedis.

He was later handed over to the Legon Police for further investigations.

DSP Tecku said Ati would also be put before court after investigations.
