Police arrest prime suspect in suspected murder case

Ho, March 9, GNA – The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested a prime suspect in the alleged murder of one Agboada Korku at Seva near Tedeafenu in the North-Tongu District.

The Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr David Ampah-Bennin told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Tuesday amidst allegations that the police were doing nothing about the case. He said the police were doing their best and soon they would come out with the findings of their investigations.

DCOP Ampah-Bennin said lack of information from the public on the incident became a major obstacle during investigation but assured that progress was being made.

He said the police would protect anyone who would volunteer information on the incident. Mr Ampah Bennin said the police was very concern about the issue and assured the family and friends of Agboada that they would soon get to the bottom of the case. He urged them to exercise restraint and support the police in their investigations. Meanwhile, the Ghana News Agency had gathered that some traditional rulers from Ho-Hliha were planning to visit the traditional rulers of Mafi Traditional Area on the issue. Agboada and three others were said to have traveled to Juapong area on January 9, this year to purchase cattle but never return home. It is believed they got missing on their way back home at Seva near Tedeafenu. The vehicle on which they were travelling with registration number VR 75 09, was later found at Seva with a cattle in it and another tied in a nearby bush.
