Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious criminal who has been behind several incidents of robbery in Asante New town and its environs.
The suspect, Alexander Peprah was shot in the left thigh after resisting police arrest.
The police trailed him after he robbed two people including a pregnant woman of her phones and tried absconding.
Announcing this in a police press conference in Kumasi on Thursday, Police Public Relations Officer ((PRO) ASP Nketia Yeboah explained that the Manhyia Divisional Command which had Alexander Peprah on its wanted list, led the operation for his arrest.
He added that the suspect had been admitted at the Manhyia government hospital where he was responding to treatment pending his arraignment before court after recovery.
