The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man in connection with a fatal altercation that occurred in April this year, following weeks of investigation and a key breakthrough sparked by a viral video.
The suspect, identified as Malcom Fraizer, also known as Nii Djan, was apprehended after the Police Intelligence Unit under the National Operations Directorate (NOD) tracked him to a hideout in Accra.
According to a police statement, the arrest was made possible after a video linked to the violent incident surfaced online, allowing authorities to gather vital leads that led to the suspect’s location.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fatal confrontation took place on 1st April 2025. During police interrogation, Fraizer admitted to physically assaulting the victim, reportedly after discovering that the deceased was allegedly in a relationship with his ex-wife.
The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed, and police say further investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.
Fraizer remains in police custody and is assisting with ongoing inquiries.
The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to remain calm and continue cooperating with law enforcement, especially when sharing relevant information that could help in resolving criminal cases. Authorities say the role of digital evidence and public vigilance was instrumental in cracking this case.
