Police arrest journalist for fraud

Koforidua, Nov. 20 GNA – Seth Takyi Boateng, a Graphic Cameraman in Koforidua, was detained by the Police last Wednesday, November 17, at abo= ut 1100 hours till midnight, for alleged defrauding one Mr Samuel Kyei-Boate= ng and Mr Ernest Cobbina.

Takyi Boateng popularly known as Osofo was arrested while preparing to go on official assignment for collecting a total of GH¢1,200 from Mr Kyei-Boateng, Regional Page Editor of Graphic Communications Group Limit= ed and Mr Cobbina Production Manager also of the company to influence the Headmistress of Aburi Girls School to gain admission for their children. A police source told the Ghana News Agency that after collecting=

the money, Takyi Boateng did not fulfil his promise.

Mrs Sylvia Asempa, the Headmistress, who was contacted on the issue reported it to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect. The source said the children of the suspect had refunded the money, which is in the custody of the police while investigations are on-going.
