Pocketsize constitution for Ghanaians

Accra, Sept 14, GNA – A pocketsize 1992 Constitution would soon be on the Ghanaian market to make it more accessible to the public for easier study to enable them to know their civic rights and responsibilities.

Mr George Odamtten, Chief Executive Officer of Allshore Publishers, publishers of the smaller size version, told journalists at a pre-launch press conference to exhibit the booklet, which would be launched nationwide on September 29, 2005.

Mr Odamtten said Allshore in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education would initiate joint distribution modalities to second cycle schools throughout the country. He said the innovation initiated by his outfit was not to make profit but was part of his civic responsibility towards good governance in the country.

Mrs Augustina Akosua Akumanyi, Deputy Chairperson (Programmes) of NCCE, said the pocketsize Constitution was timely since it would help deepen Ghana’s young democracy.
