PNC Parliamentary Candidate for Asawasi outlines development vision

Kumasi, Oct. 5, GNA- The Parliamentary Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) for Asawasi in the Kumasi Metropolis has attributed the deteriorating environmental conditions in the Constituency to poor drainage.

Mr Thomas Atigah, the Candidate, blamed the state of affairs on the lack of sustained public education and the failure of the city authorities to enforce the byelaws on sanitation.

Mr Atigah made the observation on Monday, during an interview with the Ghana News Agency to spell out his development vision for the Constituency.

He pledged to make civic education a priority if he was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) to sensitise the people on their responsibilities towards the environment.

Mr Atigah said he would also channel a greater percentage of the MP’s share of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund to education and set up a fund to award scholarships to brilliant but needy children in the Constituency.
