PLAYBACK: Pres. Akufo-Addo inaugurates 60th Independence Anniversary planning committee

Ahead of Ghana’s 60th independence day event which falls on the 6th of March, President Akufo-Addo has announced names of members to make up a committee for the planning and organization of the celebrations.

Mr. Ken Amankwah was named chair of the committee with Deputy Chief of Staff; Samuel Jinapor as his vice. Administrators of the office of the President and other state executives as well as representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and arts will also constitute the committee.

President Akufo-Addo indicated that representatives from the various wings of the country’s security structure will be part of the committee to ensure the event is organized in full transparency.

According to him, planning is needed to ensure the occasion is modest considering our current financial status as a country, but elegant and memorable.
