PLAYBACK: ‘Newsfile’ on JoyNews

Newsfile on Joynews took a critical look at revelations coming from the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament’s sitting which began on Monday, 7th August 2017.

Among the numerous revelations made this week was the fact that the Komenda Sugar Factory, one of the previous government’s flagship achievement, which was set up to produce sugar, has never been operational.

The NDC is said to be at the crossroads, the question many ask is whether they will survive it. This week, a top government official of the Mahama administration launched a scathing attack aimed at Citizen Vigilante, Martin Amidu and Founder and Former President Jerry John Rawlings. The Panelists delved into issues and controversies confronting the country’s largest opposition, NDC

The President’s 6-day tour of the Central and Western Regions took him to Denkyira Obuasi where he was welcomed with a durbar.

The President pledged not to relent on his fight against galamsey and assured the people of the town of massive developmental projects.

His tour also witnessed several other pledges and assurances including the promise to construct a fertiliser factory in Jomoro as part of the one-district-one-factory policy.

These and other issues that made the news took center-stage in today’s edition of Newsfile.
