Wa, Aug. 18, GNA – Plan Ghana, an international non-governmental organisation says it is prepared to support government’s strategic development programmes.

It has therefore held itself ready to partner government’s departments and agencies for the provision of quality and improved livelihoods for the people through capacity building of families and focusing on children rights and their education.

Mr Prem Shukla, Country Director of Plan Ghana made this known during a courtesy call on Alhaji Issahaque Salia, Upper West Regional Minister at his office in Wa on Thursday.

He said the promotion of child rights and education as well as other development for the marginalized minority group in society needed sectoral and coordinated approach to address the challenges. “We need to work with others to give the voiceless the voice and Plan Ghana long time plan would focus on education and also help families to improve their economies”, Mr. Shukla explained. Alhaji Salia said the provision of facilities and opportunities for people, especially children and women by Plan Ghana had helped to fill the development gap that government had not done. He said there was nothing meaningful or better that could help to develop the country more than education and called for more interventions from the Plan Ghana to push the development of the region forward.

Alhaji Salia said government appreciated the efforts of the NGO and that the Regional Coordinating Council would work towards strengthening the existing good partnership relations for the benefit of the country.
