Plan Ghana supports CSM campaign education with 20,000 Ghana cedis

Wa, March 5, GNA – Plan Ghana, an international non-governmental organisation, has earmarked 20,000 Ghana cedis to support the celebro-spinal meningitis (CSM) education campaign in the Upper West Region. The money would be used to support local non-governmental organisations that would help sensitise the people about CSM prevention and what to do when the disease attacks people.

Mr. Kofi Adade Debrah, Northern Sector Manager of Plan Ghana, said this when he presented a cheque for 6,000 Ghana cedis to the Upper West Regional Directorate of the Health Service.

He said the support was to complement government’s efforts towards reducing the spread of the disease in the communities. Mr. Mahmud Khalid, Upper West Regional Minister, commended Plan Ghana and called on other non-governmental organisations to assist. Dr. Alexis Nang-beifubah, who received the cheque thanked Plan Ghana.
