Place Health Of People Above Profit – Chemical Sellers Told

Goaso (Brong Ahafo Region), 1, Oct. Mr Duut Belima, a Pharmacist at the Government Hospital at Goaso has called on chemical sellers to place the health of the people above the big profit they expect from their operations. He said they could do so by procuring their drugs from certified sources only and dispensing them with the right prescriptions. Mr Belima gave the advice at a seminar organised by the Brong- Ahafo Regional Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services and sponsored by Mabea Health Services, a Pharmaceutical Company at Sunyani, for chemical sellers in the Asunafo and Asutifi Districts of the Brong Ahafo Region. He cautioned the chemical sellers against buying from unauthorised dealers. Mr Belima stressed the need for them to acquire some basic knowledge to enable them read medical prescriptions and dispense correctly. He asked them not to dispense any prescription which is not clear to them but to refer such prescriptions to the nearest pharmacist for clarification.
