Pioneer Tobacco Company Donates To Dotobaa Electrification Project

Dotobaa (B/A), Sept 1, – The management of the Pioneer Tobacco Company (PTC) has donated 100 bags of cement worth about 1.2 million cedis to the people of Dotobaa in the Nkoranza District to support the town’s electrification project. The donation followed a petition made by the tobacco farmers in the area to the company to support the community’s initiated development programme. Making the presentation at Dotobaa at the weekend, the Leaf Director of PTC, Mr Yaw Oyirefi, commended the people for their communal spirit towards the electrification project. He said it is the policy of the company to support community- initiated projects in areas where the people grow tobacco adding that such farmers contribute to the sustenance of the tobacco industry in the country. He urged the people to work harder to increase tobacco production in the area to generate more income for the company to enable it to assist other communities.
