Physically challenged person donate wheel chairs to Okyenhene

Kyebi (E/R), Mar. 4, GNA- A physically challenged person, Mr Emmanuel Ofosu-Yeboah 27, has presented 550 wheel chairs valued at 25, 000 dollars to Okyenehene, Osagyefuo Amotia Ofori Panin for distribution to the physically challenged in the country.

The Free Wheel-Chairs Mission of USA (FWCM), a Non-governmental organization, provided the wheel chairs.

Mr Ofosu-Yeboah observed that the election of a physically challenged person to parliament proves that, if government commit more resources to train the physically challenged they could contribute effectively towards national development. He said the FWCM planned to raise resources to purchase more wheel chairs for distribution to the physically challenged in other parts of Africa this year.

The Chairman of the Eastern Regional Branch of the Association of Physically Challenged, Mr Christian Atta Sarpong appealed to Parliament to hasten the passing of the disability bill. Osabarimah Agyeman the III, Nifahene of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, who received the donation on behalf of the Okyenhene, thanked Mr Ofosu-Yeboah for the kind gesture.
