PHR-Plus organises health insurance workshop

Tepa (Ash), July 17, GNA- A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Partners for Health Reform (PHR-Plus), has organised a two-day technical training workshop on Health Insurance Scheme development for 50 working groups in the Ahafo-Ano North District of Brong Ahafo.

Participants were selected from the traditional council, area councils, unit committees, the police, health workers, religious bodies and civil societies.

Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the Ahafo-Ano North District Chief Executive (DCE), appealed to members of the groups to work hard to ensure that the scheme becomes operational in the district before the end of the year. He said the District Assembly has voted 50 million cedis for the development of the scheme in the district.

Dr Joseph Bonney, the Technical Team Leader of PHR-Plus, advised the Health Committee to educate the people to embrace the scheme.
