Photos: 60 Bused NDC fresh voters busted in Ashanti Region

Winning the 2016 polls to some political parties begins now; and as part of measures to safeguard every electoral loophole that was left unguarded in previous general elections, the New Patriotic Party has managed to effect the arrest of fresh voters who were being transported from the Upper East Region to the Ashanti Region to register their names in the ongoing limited registration exercise.

Chairman for the NPP in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, informs Peacefmonline.com that prior to accosting the culprits, he picked up intelligence that the National Democratic Congress would be busing people from the Upper East to the stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As a way of verifying the intelligence he picked, he revealed that he assembled his men at vantage areas to prevent the bussed voters from registering their names in the area.

In all, sixty (60) culprits were arrested and thirteen (13) have been handed over to the Zongo Police Station where they have been made to write a statement.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Peacefmonline.com, some of the culprits confessed to them that they were asked to come and register at the Asawase, Oforikrom, Alabar, New Edubiase and Tepa areas.
