The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has suspended its nationwide partial strike.
The decision to call off the strike was taken at an emergency national delegates meeting held on Monday, August 31, 2015.
According to a statement signed by the National Chairman of GHOSPA, Stephen Corquaye, the decision to call off the strike was as a result of progress made with the current on-going discussions with relevant state institutions, the persistent plea from the general public, clients and other eminent persons.
GHOSPA further expressed hope that the process would be completed as scheduled to avert any such future actions.
“We are thereby requesting all our members to resume work fully whilst the National Executives continue to engage with the employer,” the statement said.
The Pharmacists had been on strike since July over what they say were discrepancies on their placement on the Single Spine Salary Structure.
The Pharmacists withdrew the provision of pharmaceutical services to all outpatients, nights and weekends in the public health facilities.
