Personnel of CEPS appeal for regular supply of logistics

Ho, Nov. 28, GNA – The Senior Staff Association of Custom, Excise and Preventive Service (SSACEPS) has appealed to their Management to design and supply standard sets of uniforms and accoutrements including name tags to officers regularly.

The association also called on Government to review the directive of importing wax prints only through Takoradi Port to stem the increase in smuggling and loss of revenue to the country.

The appeal was contained in a communiqu=E9 issued at the end of their 16th Annual Delegates Conference held in Ho.

The communiqu=E9 signed by Mr Christopher Larweh, National Chairman and Mr Phillip Timbilla, National Secretary asked management to set up a Provident Fund for the personnel.

It asked management to construct office accommodation at deprived regional centres including Ho, Koforidua, Bolgatanga and Tamale and review rents charged to officers in respect of Service Residential Accommodation.

The communiqu=E9 called on management to take legal action to recover all landed properties of the Service especially the CEPS Guest House at Roman Ridge in Accra.

It assured management of their cooperation, collaboration and called for a review of the composition of the Service’s Interview Panel for the rank of Senior Collectors with the inclusion of assessors from recognized public institutions such as the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the Public Service Commission.

Mr Junior Appiah-Warden was elected Chairman, Mr Ramsford Hamza Sam-Abakah, as Vice Chairman, Mr Charles Agbeke as Secretary and Mr A. Ayew as Treasurer to steer affairs of the association for the next four years.
