Personnel at the Public Service urged to abide by new financial laws

Sunyani, Aug 11, GNA – Mr Francis Boateng, the Brong Ahafo Regional Co-odinating Director, has cautioned workers in the public service to abide by the tenets of the three new financial laws, to ensure the progress of the country.

“If we work strictly according to the new laws there is no doubt that we shall be saving ourselves from embarrassment and the government and will be in a position to meet our demands for increase in salaries and wages,” he said.

Mr Boateng was addressing the close of a two-day workshop on the new laws for regional heads and accountants of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies on Tuesday.

The new laws are the Financial Administration Act 2003 (654), Public Procurement Act 2003 (663) and Internal Audit Agency Act 2003 (658). Mr Boateng said the laws were enacted to check lapses in the financial administration of the public service.
