Perry Okudzeto resumes duty

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has confirmed that Perry Okudjeto has assumed duties at the party’s headquarters.

Acting Communications Director, Perry Okduzeto and Director of Finance and Administration, Kwadwo Opare-Hammond were asked to proceed on leave in a statement signed by Kwabena Agyepong.

Several reasons were given by the party executives for this action, however, it didn’t sink down well with other party members including those asked to proceed on leave.

This created several controversies in the party to the extent that a Constitutional Committee was set up to look into the issue.

Subsequently, the committee directed the party’s General Secretary to reinstate them (Perry and Hammond.

But in reaction, Kwabena Agyei said the Committee had not been mandated to give out such directives and that they cannot give the executives instructions to take back a decision they have made.

A publication in Thursday 16th October, 2014 edition of the New Crusading Guide newspaper disclosed that Perry has resumed duties.

Speaking in an interview on PEACE FM premium morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ on Thursday, Kwabena Agyepong confirmed Perry’s return and added that “he returns as a Deputy Communications Director.”
