Pepese-Oti Damonko road slated for reconstruction

Accra, Feb. 3, GNA- Dr Richard Anane, Minister of Road Transport, on Friday said the Pepese-Oti Damanko section of the Kadjebi-Nkwanta-Damanko road, in the Volta Region, had been programmed for reconstruction, under the Transport Sector Development programme, now being prepared.

Responding to a question in Parliament on when Pepesu-Oti Damanko section of the road would be tarred, the Minister said the portion of the entire stretch from Kadjebi to Nkwanta was “gravel surfaced and in fair condition.”

Dr Anane said: “routine maintenance from Pepesu to Oti Damanko, is being executed by M/S Samoswag Construction Works, under a contract sum of 5.22 billion cedis. The scope of work involves surface reshaping, spot re-gravelling, road side clearing and ditch cleaning.” He said the first round of reshaping was completed in June 2005, while the second round was on-going.
